EARLY 2OTH CENTURY LA PIERRE STERLING SILVER OVERLAY SHIP PERFUME BOTTLE NO MONO

$ 205.32

Availability: 56 in stock
  • Condition: We only have cleaned the sterling lightly and has scratches, the internal bottom has clouds and liquid stains, we did not try to clean inside, but my experience tells me that the damage is permanent, very hard to remove the cloudiness on glass caused by liquids, specially perfume. The overlay is plenty and little glass shows on it. Please zoom at the picture for a better understand of this vanity bottle.

    Description

    Up for your consideration a lovely perfume bottle with gorgeous overlay silver that resembles trumpet flowers and a cartouche for a monogram. The shape of the bottle is of a ship's decanter with a very wide bottle. The piece is marked at the neck and very faint, so no photos of that. The stopper has what looks with a year 1924. The base of the bottle has a etching that says 10 - B & G.(Bergdorf Goodman?). La Pierre Sterling and Bergdorf were only few miles away from Newark to Manhattan. La Pierre was sold to International silver in 1929. It measures 5 1/4 of an inch tall, counting the stopper. It is 5 inches wide. As we mentioned the piece has water clouds or damage internally.
